IKEA home furnishings store has announced Nashville, TN will soon become home to another store location; making Tennessee home to two IKEA locations, the other located in Memphis. More specifically, the new location will be in the Century Farms area of Antioch near Bell Road at Interstate 24.
The Tennessean reported with the exception of a significant infrastructure contribution, it is believed that city of Nashville did not provide additional incentives to entice the retailer to make their commitment to calling Nashville their next home.
Currently, Century Farms, the Oldacre MacDonald property, is being developed for Community Health Systems’ new campus and is expected to support at least 2000 jobs in this area. IKEA will be considered the anchor tenant and will no doubt encourage additional commercial and residential growth in the coming years.
